Simple Bonus Block #2.. Better than Sliced Bread

This is number 2 in my Simple bonus block series… a quilter’s best friend, the rotary cutter!   I was lucky enough to start quilting AFTER it was invented.. which was only about 37 years ago.

 (Pattern download AT THE END)

For the 35th anniversary I was invited to a party and got to see the proto-type. That is it in the upper left photo, and the collector edition of the rotary cutter with the original funky blade in the lower right.

The pro-type was flown in from Japan just for this party!

Our theme for the Splendid Sampler was sewing related.. every block has a story that goes back to sewing in some way. Many you can directly tell what they are like my sewing machine.. but many you have to read the designer’s story to know.

My goal is to create a wall hanging for my studio with my pattern ‘Let’s Go Sew’ in the middle and Splendid Sampler blocks all around it!! Don’t you think that would be cool?

Jane and I both love Olfa products. If you have not bought a rotary cutter from them yet, it’s high time you do! And we also love the rotating mat for making our Splendid Blocks, a great tool!

BUY the Aqua Cutter or the Purple cutter.. Many other cutter styles.
