Thank you all! The Splendid Sampler™ 2 sew-along – Round Up.

Hi, it’s Pat and Jane here!

Pat and I hatched the concept of a 6″ sampler using multiple techniques four years ago and two books and a community of Splendid quilters later we have reached the last blocks of the sew-along.

We have enjoyed every moment of the Splendid Sampler sew-alongs with our community of quilters and hope to see all your finished quilts and blocks uploaded to our gallery.

I have been very privileged to meet some Splendid quilters in Australia and USA and am in continual awe of all the blocks and quilts I have seen on our Facebook page, scattered through Instagram and appearing in quilt shows.

Jane’s Block #99 – My block, Figure 8 on page 103 of the book reflects the hypnotic effect of quilting a figure 8 pattern.

Of the many wonderful things that the Splendid Sampler has given me was the opportunity to work with Pat Sloan. A kind and generous soul who ignites the passion of quilting in our community with such vigor and dedication. Pat’s Love block sums up what quilting and community are all about.

It has been a wonderful and amazing journey of 2 books for 200 blocks. From my wild and crazy idea to run a large project, to Jane’s inspiration that it be for 100 6″ blocks, we have had an amazing time. I could not have asked for a better partner to run this incredible project than Jane.

Quilt Love says it all. Not only did we start the Splendid Sampler book 1 with my heart block, we now finish with another. Because at the core, quilting means love. Love of making, Love of giving, we all pour love into each stitch we take.

You’ve now meet all the designers of Splendid Sampler Book 2 but our sewing doesn’t stop!

This project is a journey, there are quilt makers, friends and even clubs across the world making Splendid Sampler Blocks. Maybe you’ll even start a local group of your own!
