Pat’s tip ” I like to starch (heavily..) my fabric at the first cut stage. I hose my fabric down good then I begin cutting strips and units. If this is done early on any shrinkage or “drawing up” will happen now before I begin sewing units and blocks. My favorite starch is Niagra in the spray bottle. It is cheap too!”
A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting this delightful southern lady at Quiltmarket and instantly fell in love with Pat and her divine stitcheries, applique and pieced patterns.
Visit Pat’s blog today to learn more about her work and be entertained by her story behind the Splendid block – The Silver Thimble Quilt Co.
Pat is an author of four books (one of which was co-authored with Kim Diehl) – Baby Bliss, Festive Holiday projects – Christmas Cheer and two great books on exploring the beauty of neutrals in quilts and other projects for the home.
