Lorena says “It’s rewarding to bring the pieces together accurately. I find the challenge of making my quilt tops fit together like a giant jigsaw puzzle thrilling. The fact that it results in a wonderful warm quilt and a work of art is just the icing on the cake.”

Lorena is an award winning quilt maker based in the Sydney beachside suburb of Maroubra. She teaches patchwork and quilting classes for children and adults. Lorena is always learning new techniques and trying new products that inspire her to design and make her own quilts.

Lorena has been quilting for 14 years and describes her style as strong on technique and colour. The vibrant, bright colours of her South American heritage and the clear light of her family home influence her fabric choices.

When not daydreaming about quilt making, Lorena is looking after her vegetable garden and teaching vegetarian cookery.
