July 20 – Splendid Sampler™ sew along block + weekly Deals!

Article continues below these Amazon Goodies

If you started last year & life happened… you can just jump right back in! New here?.. we are assigning a block a week from our book to sew, which makes it fun to sew together!

We have had quite a few people ask for where to find Jane and my moda fabrics so they can add some to their project… how fun is THAT!  Both of us have fabrics that should work with just about any colorway you are using, even if that is cream tones.

ONLINE you can BUY Pat’s Fabric  … and BUY Jane’s (Franny & Jane).  This shop ships international too.

Each week we will have our favorite Deal,  Class, or Discount to share. Or maybe Jane or I will have another of our projects to share. So be sure you come to the website each Thursday. The post will be here by 9am EST, although it’s usually eariler

If you are looking for a jump start of fabric, Jane I and worked with the Fat Quarter shop to curate 2 different color bundles of 20 Fat Quarters each. We wanted you to be able to work with the colors and try some blocks, then you can add to this.

The Splendid Sampler Lissa Alexander

Lissa Alexander Mine isn’t as much about techniques vs. have fun, keep learning and experimenting with everything you create. That is why these 6″ blocks are so perfect to play with. If you are unhappy with your fabric choices on a block, try again. I continue to learn about different fabric placement and how it relates a completely different look. This community of quilters is the biggest show and tell which will inspire so many ideas and options.

Lissa is  multi-talented. She is an amazing designer, the quilts above have all been published in American Patchwork & Quilting magazine, and her ‘day job’ is head of Marketing for Moda fabrics.  When I first enter the business side of the quilt industry, I was working with the Indygo Junction company.  I can clearly remember being asked ‘have you talked to Lissa yet’.   Nobody in this industry needs to add her last name.. we ALL know who ‘Lissa’ is!

Lissa is also behind the mastermind of books that support Charities near and dear Moda, the designers and our publisher Martingale. These Moda All-Star books are Incredible for finding unique quilts by the Moda Designers. I’m in several. The butterfly on the cover of the mini Marvels is mine. The darling free and houses is by our Janet  Clare in Charm School.. I have one in there too!

Jane and I want to thank Lissa and the Moda team for all the support to make this project a huge success… it wouldn’t be the same without their support!
